SolidComp and Fincetic's collaboration launches a new visual tool for industrial shutdown management

Visual maintenance stop management

SolidComp and Fincet have entered into a collaboration to create an industrial shutdown management solution that combines the features of each company's flagship products. By integrating Tool4pro's maintenance shutdown management into Reality Twin's 3D environment, the new product brings shutdown tasks, schedules, and information into the real context of the plant, reducing downtime and maintenance costs and creating measurable value for the process industry.

SolidComp, which specialises in digital twin solutions for industry, and Fincet Oy, the software company offering Tool4pro, have agreed to offer a new joint solution to industrial customers. In cooperation, Tool4pro's real-time shutdown management software is combined with SolidComp's Reality Twin environment, bringing shutdown tasks, schedules, and related project information directly into the facility's visual 3D model.

From to-do lists to location-based downtime management

New solution, Visual Shutdown Management, It connects Tool4pro project tasks and downtime data to precise physical locations within Reality Twin's 3D environment. Instead of managing downtime implementation via task lists, teams can visually track what work is planned, where it is happening, what dependencies are associated with it, and what documentation or safety requirements are linked to that specific area or equipment.

Visual Shutdown Management Solution offers a more practical way to manage shutdowns and turnaround projects in process industry environments. When the solution is combined with Reality Twin's scan-based visual plant model, workflows gain operational context that is practically much easier to understand and utilise.

The solution resulting from the cooperation is intended for factories, production facilities, and process industry sites where shutdowns involve multiple internal teams, contractors, safety-critical work, and tight schedules. The value of the tool is realised in its use: shutdown preparation becomes clearer, and task coordination becomes more transparent, reducing risks related to misunderstood locations, missing context, or fragmented information.

Taking maintenance outage management to a new level

CEO of Fincet Oy Lasse Kauppinen This states that a joint solution takes the management of shutdown projects beyond traditional planning tools:

”The joint solution will take maintenance shutdown management to a whole new level by adding the visual layer of Reality Twin. Mere task lists show what needs to be done, but they don't show the actual environment where the work takes place. Gantt charts and task lists are still important, but by themselves they don't show what the work actually looks like in the plant where it's happening, or what other tasks and safety conditions exist around it. By combining Tool4pro and Reality Twin, we can bring project management directly into the real operating environment and help customers manage shutdowns much more clearly, in a more controlled manner, and more effectively.”

SolidComp CEO Sándor Nagy says that the new collaboration is another strong example of how widely the Reality Twin platform can be utilised: ”This collaboration and joint solution are a good example of how strong the Reality Twin concept is, both visually and technically. Because Reality Twin brings information together in a practical environment and connects it to the physical plant, it can be used for many different purposes, from training and safety to maintenance and shutdown implementation. This flexibility, in particular, is one of the platform's greatest strengths.”

A practical example of how to utilise a digital twin

Collaboration with Fincetic offers a concrete example of how a digital twin can be utilised beyond mere visualisation. Reality Twin is not just a model of a facility, but a mixed reality 3D environment where device data, documents, tasks, schedules, and workflows are combined with the real-world object in one place.

A shared single source of truth is particularly relevant when planning for shutdowns. Existing systems often hold the necessary data, but not always in a readily usable format under pressure. A collaborative solution demonstrates how a visual, reality-based context can make data more useful for maintenance management, shutdown planners, engineering teams, contractors, and HSEQ professionals.
